Tourism Studies
include all aspects of tourism, from the study of the motives
and behaviour of tourists themselves, to the operation of the
tourism industry, the impact of tourism on the natural and built
environment, as well as the economic impacts of tourism. Tourism
Studies also include planning and policy making for tourism and
the management of the environmental effects of tourism.
BGTR has sought to promote interdisciplinary research with the aim of
developing an integrated understanding of the phenomenon of
tourism. In doing so, the Group aims to produce research that
will be of use to the industry and policy makers alike.
